Award-winning chef Craig Stevens has been appointed head chef at The White Hart at Modbury, one of South Devon's top fine-dining pubs.
Craig, Devon chef of the year in 2006, has moved across from his role as group chef for Wykeham Inns to take a more hands-on role at the White Hart.
Craig, who led the Seafood Restaurant in Yeamlpton to double AA rosette status, is hoping to achieve similar success at the White Hart.
He said: "I wanted to get back to being in the kitchen as preparing and cooking fine food is what I want to do.
"I aim to make the White Hart a leading place to dine in South Devon by serving high quality, Mediterranean-based dishes but with my own style.
"This part of the world has some of the best food producers there are and I want to use these as much as possible."
Howie Bedford, general manager at the White Hart, says he is delighted to have Craig on board.
He said: "His experience combined with his drive and determination will help maintain the White Hart reputation as one of the finest dining pubs in the area, and take us to even higher levels."
